Neuropsychological & Psychological Testing in Los Angeles

WHEN IS AN EVALUATION RIGHT FOR ME?

Do you have trouble concentrating, making decisions, or recalling events? A neuropsychological or a psychological examination might be helpful and provide clarity.

A neuropsychological examination evaluates different areas of thinking (memory, attention, thinking speed, and more), while a psychological examination can provide information about personality, mood, and temperament.

WHAT IS AN EVALUATION?

Through quantitative and qualitative data, neuropsychological and psychological examinations provide a picture of your brain. Not only is this data helpful for you, your instructors/professors, and your medical providers, but also, it may assist in identifying proper medical intervention and treatment.

Neuropsychological and psychological testing can reveal whether someone has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Alzheimer's dementia, residual cognitive symptoms following COVID-19, residual cognitive symptoms following a brain injury/concussion, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Major Depressive disorder, and more. Treatment is available and the sooner the condition is identified, evaluated, and diagnosed, the better the treatment outcome.

TIMELINE

Dr. Fenton's neuropsychological and psychological examinations are specific to you and tailor-made. Our examinations typically last 3 – 6 hours and consist of a detailed discussion of your history (medical, educational, and social), collection of cognitive and/or psychological data, and preliminary interpretations of the data. Depending upon the complexity of the examination, we typically complete our official report within 4 business days, and we strongly encourage our clients to schedule a “feedback session" where we can discuss with them in detail, the data, diagnoses, recommendations, treatment planning, and “next-steps.”
